Menomonie, Wis – The University of Wisconsin – Extension and Bremer Bank are sponsoring a Winter Grain Update meeting on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. The workshop will be held at the Dunn County Community Services Building, 3001 US Highway 12 East, Menomonie, WI. There is no cost and lunch will be sponsored by Bremer Bank.
The seminar is aimed to help grain farmers increase their profitability despite the current grain market’s increased volatility. UW-Extension Specialists presenting include Carrie Laboski, UW-Madison Soil Science, on fundamental soil fertility strategies and considerations for the timing of nitrogen applications. In addition, Joe Lauer, UW-Madison Agronomy, will discuss strategies on how to survive and thrive on current corn price projections. Participants will also receive information on the results from local county cash farmland rental rate survey by Dunn County Agriculture Agent Katie Wantoch and St. Croix County Agriculture Agent Ryan Sterry.
